Olivet Welcomes ABHE Executive Director Dr. Larry McKinney

January 27, 2006

Olivet University was honored to host Executive Director of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), Dr. Larry McKinney, on the afternoon of Monday, January 23, 2006 on its main campus for a tour of school's facilities.

Dr. McKinney's visit to Olivet preceded his attendance at a convention, also being held in San Francisco, CA.

After a brief luncheon with Olivet University administrators, including Dean of Olivet Theological College & Seminary, Dr. William Wagner, and Olivet's Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Walker Tzeng, Dr. McKinney was invited to visit Olivet University's main campus building in downtown San Francisco. Although the informal visit lasted only several hours, administrators still were able to introduce some of the University's most recent and exciting developments. Among them was the newly launched Center for Information Technology at Olivet University, which is serving a myriad of research and development functions supporting the University's core mission.

During a series of presentations, Dr. McKinney was also given a brief overview of the academic and professional opportunities available to Olivet University students.

"Even in this short time, I was able to sense that Olivet University is an international community concerned with the addressing the holistic needs of its students, " noted Dr. McKinney.

The visit concluded with a closing prayer offered by Dr. McKinney, during which he asked God's continued blessing on the school and the members of its staff and students.

Olivet administrators, Mr. Tzeng and Ms. Tracy McNeal, who is Director of Academic Affairs, will connect again with Dr. McKinney and ABHE staff members in mid-February, when the team will attend the ABHE Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL.
