As the next semester approaches, new plans and visions are in store for Olivet College of Art and Design.
On December 3, Olivet's Graphic Design Instructor Patti Oji exhibited her array of talents with watercolors on canvas at an opening reception at the Thomsson Hall located in the Sausalito Presbyterian Church.
On Sat., June 17, Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS) Dean and Professor Dr. William Wagner warmly welcomed members of the Olivet family into his home in Petaluma, CA for a summer barbeque. The event was attended by over thirty Olivet University alumni, students, staff, and faculty members, including OTCS Professor Tom Cowley and Olivet’s Chief Administrator Walker Tzeng. Fellowship activities included sports, praising, and a short message delivered by Dr. Wagner, in which he affirmed Olivet’s dream to revive San Francisco.
Dr. William L. Wagner has made a generous gift to Olivet University's library from his personal collection of theological books. The donation adds nearly 2,000 titles to the University's current holdings, and will support the library in critical areas of the school's mission, especially in the areas of bible and theology.
Joan Carter, professor and dean of Olivet College of Art & Design, will renew her tenure with Olivet University as a fulltime faculty member as of Summer 2006. Carter is a 1996 alumna of Graduate Theological Union, where she received her Ph.D. degree in Theology and Arts
Aspiring to support Asia-related Christian studies and make Olivet into a leading center of these studies internationally, the University has announced the launch of the Asian Library Initiative, beginning in mid-June.
Olivet University has received a generous donation of photographic equipment that will be used to develop the visual media field of studies, especially with the Olivet College of Journalism (OCJ). The gift comes from amateur photographer Mr. Austin Brooks, whose artwork currently is being featured at a museum exhibition in San Francisco, CA.
On Saturday, June 10, 2006, 4:00 pm PST, Olivet University held its 2006 Graduation Ceremony. Approximately 150 guests attended the afternoon ceremony in Olivet University Chapel, on the school's main campus in downtown San Francisco, CA. A live webcast of the ceremony was also available for viewing on six continents.
