Jubilee College of Music Begin Fall '05 Classes

September 15, 2005

Jubilee College of Music held its first class on Monday at the San Francisco, CA main campus. This is a significant year for JCM, with many plans to reform and remodel the Christian music curriculum to match the growing trends of CCM and its influence on worship music in the church. As churches continue to develop, and new ways of outreach into different communities, Christian music has changed. Jubilee College of Music hopes to educate students to match and lead this trend of Christian music.

Classes yesterday were taught by Dr. Don Fugate on music theory and keyboarding. Beginning classes will allow students to build the basic foundations of music. The next day classes will be taught by Dr. Merrill Smoak, who will be teaching Contemporary Worship and Vocal ensembles.

"I'm very excited about this new semester, with the many new classes offered. I wish to participate and learn the necessary tools to become a better worship leader, and reveal the image of Christ through my life and example," says Astor Lee, a student of Jubilee College of Music.

"As this Fall semester continues, I hope that our students will come to realize the important calling that God has for them, to become great leaders of worship for the world. We believe that these classes will raise new and greater ministers of Jubilee Mission," comments Christopher Chou.

Jubilee College of Music students will also have opportunities this school year to participate in local concerts featuring worship leaders Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Third Day, and Delirious. In class and outside, JCM professors are making each day a learning experience, as well as a worship experience.
