Graphic Design Internship Program

October 25, 2005

OCAD is now accepting applications from design students for their Annual Internship program. A few selected applicants will do work-study with professional designers at assigned ministries and companies. The fields of vector illustration, Flash, web-layout design, web/programming, and print designs are now accepting applications.

The Internship program is expecting to recruit top OCAD design students for each field. Students can focus in one field and cater a portfolio suitable for that type of work. Though portfolio would still need to demonstrate basic skills in other area. Students with a strong portfolio demonstrating skills of design, composition, color, and assignments from previous courses will have a chance at being accepted into the program.

OCAD alumni Hannah Lee, who now is working in a well known Christian media corporation, was a former Internship participant. “I highly recommend this internship program to any design student simply because of the work experience. The learning pace was much faster as I got to have hands on experience on projects and close guidance from my mentor at that time. It opened up many doors and honed my skills to help me get to where I am now.” Ms. Lee has been an OCAD internship mentor for the past several years, guiding design students with web-layout and logo design.

Applications are now being accepted with the deadline set on Monday, January 2, 2006. Students who are interested may set an appointment with their course advisors for more details.
