Olivet University Adopts Digital Lifestyle

December 05, 2005

Olivet University is adopting the latest digital technology including video, internet, and wireless technologies. Olivet University will be the few universities in the world to offer an entire course of video-recorded lectures through OU Podcasts for playback on iPods, cellphones, and the common personal computer.

Students would download the lecture as they would a song. The downloaded lecture materials, accessible anytime and anywhere, will become a great study tool for the students with active lifestyle.

Olivet University is also creating digital media database to provide news and information in real time 24 hours a day for use on Websites, Intranet, wireless services or interactive application. News will in XML, Web-ready and wireless-ready media formats, including text, photos, graphics, audio, video, multimedia packages, maps, charts and more.

Many students from the Olivet College of Information Technology (OCIT) are volunteering to participate in this project managed by Olivet University Research & Development Team. OU R&D plans to provide a leading digital technology for the university.
