SAN FRANCISCO, Ca. — Olivet College of Art and Design (OCAD) received a generous donation over 240 lithograph art pieces from a private contributor on January 18.
The gift from businessman Michael Agron of Pomona, CA was delivered to Olivet University on January18th. It includes six different sets of lithographs measuring 26x36 inches from artists Della Costa, Leal, and Elke Sommers.
The colorful creations, each of which communicates a distinct look and feel, garnered immediate attention from faculty, staff, and students upon its arrival.
Professor Sarah Hwang who instructs OCAD's color theory course shared her enthusiasm about the donation. "I encourage my students to learn traditional, basic forms and create with modern aesthetics. I believe these appealing pieces will be insightful for them, as well as a source of inspiration for the entire University community."
Olivet College of Art & Design Director Ginturn Tran expressed especial appreciation on behalf of the school, extending "warmest thanks to the Agron family for this contribution and the work to coordinate its arrival," in a statement.
The prints will be displayed in the Universit's San Francisco library complex for several months while a permanent location is being determined.
