Easter Greetings 2008
My Dear Olivet Friends,
Happy Easter!
This is more than a seasonal greeting; it's an affirmation central to our Christian faith.
He is risen!
This is the affirmation that turned a small, defeated band of desperados into triumphant disciples. They came to know that He – this Jesus who had lived, loved, and taught among them, and was crucified – is risen… that is, alive, present and powerful.
That truth transformed them, and they in turn transformed the empire and the world. It will transform us as well, along with our empires and our world, as we respond together in words and actions with the early Christian community, "He is risen, indeed!"
