SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Dr. Tony Sargent, the first principal of the International Christian College in Glasgow, concluded his special lecture series "Preaching Ministry of Martin Lloyd-Jones" April 11.
Based on his books The Sacred Anointing: Preaching and the Spirit's Anointing in the Life and Thought of Martyn Lloyd Jones, and Gems from Martyn Lloyd-Jones: An Anthology of Quotations from "The Doctor," Dr. Sargent's lectures embodied the spirit of Lloyd-Jones' preaching that has inspired generations of believers, preachers and Christian scholars.
During his visit, Dr. Sargent, who serves as a director of several Christian organizations, introduced his work addressing the ministry needs of women and children in the developing world. He also spoke at length with leaders from the University and its affiliate ministries in a series of meetings about Olivet's growth and plans supporting Christian higher education internationally.
