Olivet University held a summer lecture series in theology studies June 14-17. Featured speakers included Olivet Theological College & Seminary professors Dr. William Wagner and Dr. Tom Cowley. The series also included special guest lectures by Dr. Fermin A. Whittaker and Dr. Roderick Durst.
Dr. Fermín A. Whittaker is the executive director of California Southern Baptist Convention. Since 1995, he has led about 100 Fresno-based and field staff to assist churches in reaching the diverse communities throughout California for Christ. Dr. Whittaker's lecture highlighted his mission experience and emphasized the importance of following the calling of God in every ministry station.
Dr. Roderick K. Durst is director of the eCampus and MDIV/MTS degree programs and professor of historical theology at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He was invited to share reflections about mission and ministry in China.
