Olivet College of Art & Design (OCAD) faculty member Patricia Oji exhibited her work this month at the Marin Arts Open at San Rafael. The annual festival is organized by the Marin Arts Council, whose mission is to promote a vibrant and creative engagement of the arts through its country wide art shows.
Oji's work consisted of a series of design and nature paintings. The show also featured work from local artists. OCAD students attended the event in experiencing the thriving culture of fellow designers and artists. The exhibitions allowed students to meet and network with artists. Students such as Rosalya, an OCAD bachelor student, reflected on the event.
"I was able to meet with so many passionate artists who showcase a very high level of imagination and creativity. I felt challenged seeing their work and received a lot of advice and encouragement speaking with the artists themselves," said Rosalya.
The event's experienced artists, such as Patricia Oji, provided inspiration to many of the young designers and encouraged them to flourish and fill their lives with creative discoveries.
