OTCS Students Benefited Through Global Link

November 02, 2010

The Olivet community has taken the advantage of the Global Link Conference, a part of Lausanne's effort of digitalizing the Congress for local locations around the globe. Students from the Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS) gathered at Chapel for this one day event.

Jonathan Park, the director of OTCS, welcomed the participants with a brief introduction and a prayer.  It was followed by a short film on the history of Christian evangelization and attempts for unity. The rest of the event consisted of viewing recorded sessions from Capetown, South Africa, and each one was followed by group discussions. Limited language translation service was also provided. The participants had a fruitful time by staying current with the global issues and discussing in-depth questions.

"I was very fortunate to be able to participate online and locally of this world evangelical movement," said Michael Lee, a student of OTCS.  "It was encouraging to see people around the globe uniting for one purpose of evangelization."

Olivet University is one of the over 600 registered Global Link Sites that were given access to video and other conference resources. The Global Link allowed people around the world to remotely participate in Cape Town 2010 through its local programs.  Resources and materials will benefit as supplementary materials for Olivet’s various courses in Missiology.
