Representatives from Olivet University were in attendance for the celebration of Missio Nexus, the mission agency formed from the merger of CrossGlobal Link and the Mission Exchange. Missio Nexus now represents 200 mission agencies with 35,000 evangelical missionaries deployed to every country in the world and is the largest North American evangelical mission association.
The celebration of the merger was held in Salem, Massachusetts at the Tabernacle Congregational Church, the same location where the first North American missionaries were sent including Adoniram Judson.
“This was a historic day,” Dr. William Wagner, president of Olivet University, “And we were blessed to be a part of it.”
Prior to the merger, Olivet’s faculty and leadership have been involved in various capacities with mission agencies within CrossGlobal Link and the Mission Exchange. For the event, Olivet was involved in the video production and recording of the service and interview with key leaders.
Among evangelical association leaders speaking at the celebration included Geoff Tunncliffe of the World Evangelical Alliance, Leith Anderson of the National Association of Evangelicals, Bruce Clemenger of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, Doug Birdsall of The Lausanne Movement, and Lon Allison of the Mission Coalition.
