Martin Bucer Seminary's Dr. Thomas Shirrmacher Visits Olivet

Representatives from Martin Bucer Seminary , a theological college for working adults with study centers in Bonn, Hamburg, Berlin, Zurich, Innsbruck, Prague and Istanbul, visited Olivet University campus last week.

 

Martin Bucer Seminary rector Dr. Thomas Shirrmacher,  and his wife Dr. Christine Schirrmacher met with Olivet’s president Dr. William Wagner and Vice President Dr. Ray Tallman to discuss possible collaboration for research and academic resources.  The two organizations also spoke of enhancing conservative theology and establishing an educational platform for international reach. 

 

Dr. Thomas Schirrmacher holds a Th.D degree in missiology and a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology, is director of the Institut fur Weltmission and Germeindebau (German Center for World Mission). He teaches missions and comparative religion at the Free Evangelical School of Theology (FETA), in Basel, Switzerland.

 

He is a missionary with Gospel Recordings International and is a spokesperson for Human Rights of the World Evangelical Alliance, which represents about 420 million evangelical Christians worldwide and director of the 2006 founded the International Institute for Religious Freedom

 

Dr. Christine Shirrmacher holds a doctorate in Islamic Studies from the State University of Bonn, Germany, and is professor of Islamic Studies in Belgium.
