Olivet University held its first Winter Quarter faculty leadership meeting on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2012 at its campus in San Francisco. The event invited key faculty and staff members to share new vision and directions for the school.
Some of the major announcements at the meeting included the formation of the school of doctoral studies as well as the introduction of new personnel roles.
The Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies, named after a prominent figure in the Moravian movement, will contain Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) and emerging Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs, which were previously listed under Olivet Theological College & Seminary. Dr. William L. Wagner and Dr. Joseph Ray Tallman will head this school as Co-Presidents.
In addition to the presentation of the Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies, new academic leaders were welcomed at the meeting including Academic Dean Dr. Christy Tran, (previously the Vice Dean of Academics); Jasmine Park (Ph.D. Candidate), Dean of Olivet College of Language Education; and Dr. John Xiao, Dean of Olivet College of Business.
