Olivet University's Jubilee College of Music, JCM, is putting the final arrangements together for its 2014 Music Technology Workshop sponsored by alumni.
JCM music students are encouraged to apply for the ten-day long event, which covers practical ways to help up-and-coming artists study and refine their music skills. Admitted students will work extensively with instructors on assigned music work while learning music software programs such as Cakewalk, Sound Forge and Finale.
The software technology allows musicians to play and create sounds with virtual instruments. Students may also record live instruments and vocals, edit and restore audio, and apply studio-quality audio effects to their pieces.
In the final phase, students will edit, print and publish professional looking musical scores as final products. The process of studying software will help students create the music with ease and learn how to apply the programs in various music fields.
JCM's 2014 Music Technology Workshop takes place in the lower level rehearsal rooms, which offer a professional setting and stimulating environment. To register for the event, please contact jcm@olivetuniversity.edu.
