Olivet University’s Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Study D.Min. Director, Dr. Tom J. Cowley, presented his latest book at the school’s chapel service this past week.
This book entitled “A Bible Summary, 12 Narrative Stories” acts as a study tool that outlines narratives to help people remember and recall key events in the bible. Dr. Cowley shared some of those stories centered around Galilee and Jerusalem to students gathered at the university’s weekly chapel service. The presentation promoted and emphasized the idea of becoming an oral prophet, exemplifying Jesus as the one who shared parables, taught, told stories, and brought out truths of the Old Testament. Early Christians in their creeds utilized sharing of the word orally.
Dr. Cowley concluded that as students go into the season of lent they must work on developing their own relationship with the Lord. Through this process, he hopes that students may become storytellers of Jesus’ life and of the Bible.
He prayed that the minds and hearts can be the places where God has prepared to store stories of the Bible and be ready to share those life-giving stories others. All students who attend chapel service on April 14th, will receive a free copy of Dr. Cowley’s new book.
