Olivet Institute of Technology, OIT, presented the results of students’ Capstone projects last week at its San Francisco, CA location.
Master students majoring in Information Technology were assigned to develop their own projects ranging in eight subjects from creating Geographic Information Management System, Introducing Machine Learning for Penetration Test Artificial Intelligence, Research and Implement of Learning Management System for Small Organizations to Customized Ecommerce Shipping Solution Research and Design and implementation of a Profit Statistics System based on PHPExcel.
Students harnessed a wide range of topics during this year's capstone project presentations. The project "Introducing Machine Learning for Penetration Test Artificial Intelligence" presented by Yuechen Hou, proposed a new POMDP model for creating a more efficient and practical fit system for real scale work. POMDP stands for partially observable Markov decision process. It is a mathematical model used for problem solving and discovering solutions by capturing uncertainty through effects and stimuli. Furthermore, a new system simulation engine was developed to test and evaluate the model.
Student Yong Zhao presented his project "Research and Implement of Learning Management System for Small Organizations." He created a web-based Learning Management System helping small organizations access online courses easily and working within affordable budgets.
"Overall, I am very satisfied with those accomplishments students have made," said OIT Director Johnny Xiang. “It shows their potential to explore problem solving throughout different fields and techniques."
