Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies' annual doctoral colloquium is under way at Olivet University's Riverside campus.
The colloquium, which began Wednesday, provides Ph.D. students the opportunity to attend various seminars in preparation for their dissertations.
Students are required to join certain seminars, including one on global theology and missiology, which is designed to help them develop a global mission viewpoint.
Elective seminars being offered this year cover subjects such as Buddhism — which is intended to help students learn how to better communicate the Gospel in a predominantly Buddhist region — and the New Testament.
The latter seminar is focused on helping students gain a better understanding of the social, political and religious contexts of the New Testament books.
The doctoral colloquium will conclude on Nov. 13.
