Doctoral Students Evaluate Colloquium Seminars

December 04, 2015

Most students said they were highly satisfied or satisfied with the seminars that were taught during last month’s doctoral colloquium, according to course evaluations.

Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies conducted the survey to examine and evaluate various aspects of the recent seminars. More than half of the students participated in the survey, which includes ten questions, and left their feedback.

A majority of the students stated that they were highly satisfied or satisfied with the required seminars, including Global Theological Foundation and Global Missiology, and the instructors of the courses. More than half of the students also gave high marks for the elective seminars such as Buddhism or New Testament Background. Students also gave positive feedback about the group discussions and presentations that took place during the courses, noting that they created opportunities for students to learn from one another.

One survey participant commented that though the Global Theological Foundation seminar was very challenging, group discussions were “very helpful” and helped keep the student accountable on foundational beliefs.

ZSDS will use the evaluations to improve the seminars and address any issues that were brought up.
