Olivet School of Art & Design is planning to create wall murals at Olivet University’s Riverside campus
With the purpose of reviving God's words and enriching the academic environment with art, Olivet School of Art and Design (OSAD) has teamed up with Creatio International, a non-profit ministry comprised of artists who are passionate to serve Christ, to develop plans and prepare several surfaces for painting.
"The murals will add life to the campus, and connect the students closer to the Gospel," commented OSAD Director Zimou Tan.
The plan for murals has been warmly welcomed by staff and students.
"It is a wonderful idea," said Dr. Nathanael Tran, vice president of development at OU. "It would be an honor if I can also be a part of it."
In the initial phase of the project, the artists will collect ideas, such as which Bible verses should be used to serve as inspiration for the murals. Once the verses are chosen, they will then create sketches on the walls.
OSAD has been dedicated to educating ministry-bound leaders, and revolutionizing Christian mission through art and design by nurturing creativity, interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, conceptual development and technical skills.
