Students and staff from Olivet School of Art & Design attended an art fundraiser in Idyllwild, California, where one of their own works was on display.
The “Eye of the Artist” fundraiser, held annually by the Art Alliance of Idyllwild, is billed as one of the largest art parties in town.
Joining some 250 guests on March 12, OSAD Director Zimou Tan, OU Vice President Dr. Matthias Gebhardt and several OSAD students showed their support to help “keep art alive” in the local community.
Tan’s artwork, titled “John,” a 7”x6” painting, was among dozens of art pieces showcased at the event.
Shanna Robb, president of AAI, expressed possibilities for future cooperation between the university and the alliance.
"It was a great opportunity for both parties to get to know each other and began a wonderful friendship," said Tan.
The Art Alliance of Idyllwild is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization. Its mission is to see Idyllwild become a nationally recognized fine arts center for education, creativity and exhibition.
