Olivet University partnered with the Olivet Teen Mission (OTM) ministry and held promotional activities for teenage missions during the summer. The program mainly focused on providing young people with more spiritual and emotional support. Looking at the positive response from teenagers and their parents, the ministry realized its function to discipline youth with sound Biblical knowledge.
For this purpose, Olivet University is teaming up again with OTM to develop a concentration for Teen Mission. The program courses will be catered towards raising Youth Pastors with hopes of starting an onsite program by 2018 Winter Quarter.
The OU and OTM program will provide education based on the purpose and methods of Teen Mission. A special focus will be given to practical experience in the mission field that would be counted as internship credit. The courses include Teen Ministry, Teaching the Bible to Teens, Evangelism and Discipleship of Teens, and Individual and Family Development.
With this in line, the ministry aims to equip and raise youth pastors that can grow with profound truth and gospel knowledge along with practical training. The University's next step would be promoting the program to train leaders that would make an impact in the teen mission field.
