A new media team at Olivet University Riverside Campus is being formed in November. This new development will bring together pre-established creative assets that will further inspire and motivate world missions.
"We're excited to be consolidating the existing services and talent from the website, photography, and writing units under one department," says Nathanael Tran, president of the Riverside Campus of Olivet University. "Our hope is to promote more efficient teamwork and work flow for future projects."
He continued by adding that Olivet University's media department will offer a channel for student training opportunities in the areas of media, design, journalism, audio and visuals. Services provided by the Media Team will include visual media archiving, video/photo production, drones, training program, writing, design and social media. In addition, the team will assist with online education at OU Riverside. These capabilities will be crucial in winning the hearts and minds of today's generations.
"Our increasingly networked society is becoming dependent on mobile and Wi-Fi technology," says Eunice Or, program director of the Olivet School of Media and Communication.
"Every minute, we are bombarded by information - causing us to lose our attention span.
Because of this, the effectiveness of presentation will determine whether a message will get across."
"To capture the modern audience, media and entertainment ministries must be adept at both visual storytelling and graphical illustration," she added.
Earlier this year, the creative services at Olivet University Riverside has photographed events including graduation and convocation, begun remodeling the school's website, worked on online training material and produced videos for promotion and recruitment.
Other initiatives include expanding global outreach on social media for the purpose of spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth.
