DMin Candidates Successfully Passed Panel Review

March 20, 2019

DMin candidates at the Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies (ZSDS) Sonia Lee and Sarah Cho successfully passed the doctoral panel review of their DMin thesis projects this quarter.

Lee created a marriage counseling program for couples who seek to resolve conflicts or enhance their relationship through a biblical approach. Based on Apostle Paul’s well-known writings about love from 1 Corinthians 13, the nine-week program outlines nine principles of love and how to communicate in love.

Cho’s thesis project takes a deep look into the role of being a pastor’s wife. Cho developed a guidebook that explains the identity and the meaningful calling of a pastor’s wife in ministry. By following the footsteps of many pastor’s wives in history, Cho depicted their identity and role in the modern Korean church context. The guidebook also identified various types of pastor's wife role models to help users find the type that they inspire to be.

The ZSDS Doctoral Committee gave positive feedback to both thesis projects and recommended the candidates to publish their works.

ZSDS holds oral defenses each month, offering DMin candidates an opportunity to present and review their thesis projects. Candidates who pass the panel review and finalize their dissertations will be able to join the commencement in June later this year.
