Olivet School of Art and Design Associate Dean Professor Zimou Tan was invited to participate in one of the biggest art events in the San Francisco Bay Area as a member of the Marin County Art Community.
The annual Marin Open Studios event offers professional artists an opportunity to show and sell their work. Participating artists will be opening their studios and creative spaces throughout Marin County on the first and/or second weekend in May. Art collectors are able to view a listing of all artists' locations and join these guided tours. Each participating artist will also contribute one piece of artwork to exhibit at the Marin Open Studios Gallery during the event.
Professor Tan and two other local artists are chosen to exhibit their work at the renowned Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael, CA. Listed on the National Historic Register, Falkirk Cultural Center is an elegant 19th-century eleven-acre country estate that has hosted numerous art exhibitions and cultural events in its beautiful galleries.
"It is a wonderful opportunity to connect the local community through art and introduce Olivet University to the Mill Valley community," Professor Tan said.
