The Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies (ZSDS) will hold an annual colloquium for the Ph.D. Program in April. Due to the pandemic, the colloquium setting had changed to an online format. The first half of the colloquium 2020-21 was previously conducted with either a synchronous or asynchronous style, including Dr. Cleon Rogers' seminar last October.
For the second half of the Ph.D. colloquium, the 'Theological Hermeneutics' seminar by Dr. Joseph Lee will be offered. This seminar aims to examine 'the discipline of hermeneutics' from biblical, theological, and philosophical perspectives. By means of the comprehensive approaches to the discipline of hermeneutics, it shed light on the proper fashion to understand biblical texts. The seminar will be run as an online class (synchronous) on April 12-16, 2021.
Besides, Director of Ph.D. Program Dr. Mark Wagner will offer a seminar every Thursday from April 29th to June 3rd. The seminar provides a learning interaction between professors and students in order for students to develop their knowledge and expertise in the field of global theology through diverse readings, paper presentations, and discussions.
Students are required to submit their academic papers and presentation proposal pertinent to the two upcoming seminars prior to the seminar. In a monthly Ph.D. students' meeting, students shared that they have been conducting their independent research in theological hermeneutics and global theological studies.
