Faculty from Olivet Institute of Technology, OIT, attended the CES 2022 Conference virtually from Jan 5-6. It helped the faculty to keep abreast on the latest technology trend for this coming year. OIT plans to design new course material to teach students cutting-edge technology as well as apply them towards innovation.
CES 2022 featured various applications related to artificial intelligence and metaverse. The keynotes from CES 2022 are very beneficial for OIT researchers as the San Francisco campus currently conducts research in conversational artificial intelligence technology to support its Innovation Center. Metaverse, which is an extension of virtual and augmented reality, is also a hot trend of innovation as OIT faculty learned about the latest development of the metaverse from CES 2022. New courses related to the topic of metaverse will be introduced this year.
"I am very glad to attend this virtual meeting of CES 2022 and get refreshed in the knowledge of what is going on in the technology field and their most recent applications in industries," said OIT Assistant Professor Thomas Kong.
After CES 2022, OIT will organize workshops to orient students based on the CES keynotes and industrial applications.
