In the light of the rapid growth of Metaverse, Olivet Institute of Technology held a technical workshop for faculty and students at the San Francisco Campus.
The workshop introduces main technologies of Metaverse and its related areas including VR/AR, Unity3D programming and 3D printing. Applications of Metaverse such as virtual bookstores and virtual actors are covered.
"I have heard a lot about Metaverse recently. Through this workshop, I am able to know more about it and I am absolutely excited by this new technology," said an IT student who attended the workshop.
"We expect to see many Metaverse applications in the next few years. We plan to hold more workshops and introduce new courses on this subject. There can be many potential Metaverse applications for OIT students to design and deploy, such as a virtual library for Olivet University students from all U.S. campuses," said Assistant Professor Thomas Kong.
