Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS) in Orlando, FL extension has been operating with a missions-focused approach since Fall 2021 upon receiving approval by accrediting agency Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE).
Future offerings at the Orlando extension will focus on - but not be limited to - select undergraduate theology courses, internship opportunities, and the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry programs. The school aims to specialize in mission training alongside local ministries, particularly with Youth Evangelical Fellowship, a parachurch organization which envisions a global movement of young followers of Jesus Christ who carry out the Great Commission.
"I believe it is very important not only to study well but also properly apply what we learned for the kingdom of God," said Orlando Extension Director and Instructor Bethany H. Park.
Park is an Olivet alum and mission practitioner teaching at the Olivet Theological College & Seminary. She teaches courses such as Introduction to Missions, Evangelism & Discipleship, and Mission Methods & Strategy. Her background experience in missions also brings added value in student advisory and career counseling.
"The longer you serve in the mission field, the more poignant the need for professional and systematic theological education to expand in knowledge and refresh our mission mind," shared Park.
The Orlando extension is an excellent option for students seeking to study practical theology in a peaceful environment and mild climate away from the urban bustle. The campus is 40 minutes from Orlando International Airport, nearby world famous theme parks, and just a half hour drive from urban areas and college campuses - all "fertile ground" for ministry practice and conveniently accessible via public transportation.
