Dr. Jamie Pan, a new graduate from the Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies, wrote a dissertation titled "Fostering a Passion for Building Godly Character: Integrating the Experiential Approach with an Emphasis on Drama Method." She shares her reflection with thankfulness and hope.
Dr. Pan's doctoral project aims to engage K -12 students in applying biblical values through process drama activities. Olivet Academy, where Dr. Pan has been serving as a bible teacher, has adopted her experimental project and has seen phenomenal results. The project successfully fosters a collaborative community united by parents and teachers, dedicated to instilling godly character in children.
"The journey of learning and researching Christian education has been eye-opening and impactful, renewing my understanding and commission as a Christian educator. Coming from an atheistic background, I once lost my way in my education and life's purpose. The Lord called me as He called the Samaritan woman at the well. Only in Him is the living water that springs to eternity, satisfying our thirsty souls. The meaning and truth about education are found in Him, and we must make every effort to bring our children to the Lord to receive the living water.
By the grace of God, I was chosen as His instrument to serve the next generation of God's people. It is my joy to see the children thrive when engaging in meaningful activities that lead them to live a life that pleases God. Everything is from the Lord and completed through the Lord. He has endowed me with creativity and other abilities to bless my work in teaching. My innovative Doctor of Ministry (DMin) project is dedicated to His glory.
In the wonderful journey of the DMin Program, I am thankful to the many professors, mentors, and colleagues whom He sent to guide, inspire, support, provide, and encourage me on the way toward completion. I am filled with gratitude for the provision, guidance, and faithfulness of the Lord, who has blessed every aspect of this work. May all glory and honor be unto Him now and forevermore."
Dr. Pan's testimony highlights the transformative power of Christian education and the importance of integrating faith into learning. As Olivet University continues to support and guide its students, the impact of such education resonates through the lives and ministries of its graduates.
