Dr. Nathanael Tran, Chairman of Olivet University, was officially sworn in as the newest member of the Anza Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) during the council’s meeting this week. The ceremony took place on September 18, where Melissa Morfin, Assistant to the Board of Supervisors, administered the oath of office, welcoming Dr. Tran to the five-member board.
Dr. Tran expressed gratitude and a sense of purpose. “This is by God’s grace, and there may be a reason why He allowed this to happen. I hope to better serve the community through this opportunity,” he said. He praised the relationship and ties that Olivet University and the broader Anza community have built together, highlighting the positive impact that students are making through various service events. “May God use this to further Kingdom works for His glory,” he added.
The council plays a vital role in representing the interests of the community to the Riverside Board of Supervisors in District 3.
Dr. Tran’s addition to the council is welcome news for community engagement and foster collaboration between Olivet University and local residents.
